Cathedral Green
Cathedral Green has been designed to create an ‘urban village’ that will appeal to a multi-generational community. The scheme occupies a prominent location on one of Ely’s main gateways and will comprise 116 Build to Rent properties together with a 1,457m² three storey commercial building, which will provide 12 flexible offices.
Inspired by the area’s cottage-style architecture, the proposal includes a mix of modern townhouses and apartments. A focal point for the scheme will be the extensively landscaped ‘village green’, which has been designed as a Home Zone, meaning it offers a car free safe space for pedestrians and children. Specific emphasis has been given to enhancing links with the neighbourhood, and the village green will also include a woodland walk to connect to the adjacent protected wildlife site.
